LLAMAMIENTO A LA AYUDA DE EMERGENCIA

Desde la tarde del domingo 19 de septiembre, el volcán, situado en el flanco de Cumbre Vieja en nuestra isla de La Palma, ha entrado en erupción, tal y como se esperaba después de una semana de pequeños terremotos y la elevación gradual del terreno en la zona afectada. Lo que a muchos les pareció al principio un hermoso fenómeno natural se ha convertido en pocos días en una auténtica catástrofe.

Poco podemos hacer ante la devastación del volcán; una papilla incandescente e imparable de 12 metros de altura está engullendo lenta, pero inexorablemente, todas las casas, negocios y plantaciones a su paso.

Hasta ahora no ha habido víctimas, pero innumerables personas han perdido sus casas y posesiones. Muchos, debido a la rápida evacuación, sin haber tenido la oportunidad de salvar ni siquiera algunas pertenencias personales. Afortunadamente, también hay mucha solidaridad, en cuanto a alojamiento, ropa y comida.

 

Nuestra nave de Las Manchas, con su línea de embotellado y su sala caliente para la segunda fermentación en botella, por ahora se ha librado de la lava, que actualmente fluye en paralelo a una distancia de unos 600 metros.

Constantemente recibimos preguntas de personas de otras islas, de la Península y también de otros países como Bélgica y Holanda, sobre la situación actual aquí y si pueden aportar algo. Por ello, hemos decidido hacer lo que podamos como cervecería local. Por ejemplo, suministramos palés de agua embotellada Fuentealta, donada por nuestro proveedor habitual Aguas de Vilaflor en Tenerife, a los puntos de venta de alimentos locales. También queremos canalizar las ayudas financieras directas. Por ello, hemos abierto una cuenta separada para donaciones, a través de la cual cada euro se destinará íntegramente a las personas más afectadas. En esta página les mantendremos informados de esta iniciativa y de las últimas novedades.

OPROEP VOOR NOODHULP

Sinds zondagnamiddag 19/9 is de vulkaan in de flank van Cumbre Vieja op ons eiland La Palma uitgebarsten, zoals verwacht na een week van kleine aardbevingen en geleidelijke verhoging van het terrein in de bewuste zone. Wat voor velen eerst een mooi natuurfenomeen leek heeft zich in een paar dagen tijd ontwikkeld tot een grote ramp.

Tegen de verwoesting van de vulkaan kunnen we weinig doen, een gloeiende en onstopbare brij van 12 meter hoog verzwelgt langzaam maar zeker alle huizen, restaurants en plantages op zijn weg.

Er zjn totnogtoe geen slachtoffers gevallen maar talloze mensen zijn hun huis en hele hebben en houden kwijt. Velen, omwille van de snelle evacuatie, zonder de kans gehad te hebben om zelfs maar wat persoonlijke spullen te redden. Er is gelukkig ook veel solidariteit, inzake onderdak, kleren en etenswaren.

Onze hal in Las Manchas, met bottellijn en warme kamer voor hergisting op fles blijft voorlopig gespaard van de lava, die momenteel parallel op zo een 600m afstand stroomt.

We krijgen voortdurend vragen van mensen uit andere Canarische eilanden, het Spaanse vasteland en ook uit Belgié en Nederland, over de actuele toestand hier en of ze iets kunnen bijdragen. We hebben daarom besloten om als lokale brouwerij te doen wat we kunnen. Zo leveren we palletten flessenwater Fuentealta, ons geschonken door onze vaste leverancier Aguas de Vilaflor in Tenerife, aan lokale voedselpunten. Daarnaast willen we graag ook directe financiële hulp kanaliseren. We hebben daarom een aparte rekening geopend voor giften, via dewelke elke Euro integraal naar de mensen die het hardst getroffen zijn zal gaan. Via deze pagina willen we jullie op de hoogte houden van dit initiatief en van de nieuwste ontwikkelingen.

APPEAL FOR EMERGENCY AID

Since Sunday afternoon, 19/9, the volcano on the flank of Cumbre Vieja on our island La Palma has erupted, as expected after a week of small earthquakes and gradual elevation of the terrain in the affected area. What to many seemed at first to be a beautiful natural phenomenon has in the space of a few days developed into a major disaster.

There is little we can do about the volcano’s devastation; a glowing and unstoppable 12-metre-high mush is slowly but surely engulfing all the houses, restaurants and plantations in its path.

So far, there have been no casualties, but countless people have lost their homes and possessions. Many, because of the rapid evacuation, without having had the chance to save even a few personal belongings. Fortunately, there is also a lot of solidarity, in terms of shelter, clothes and food.

Our hall in Las Manchas, with its bottling line and warm chamber for secondary fermentation in bottles, has so far been spared the lava, which is currently flowing in parallel at a distance of some 600 metres.

We are constantly getting questions from people from other Canary Islands, the Spanish mainland and also from Belgium and the Netherlands, about the current situation here and whether they can contribute something. We have therefore decided to do whatever we can as a local brewery. For example, we supply pallets of Fuentealta bottled water, donated by our regular supplier Aguas de Vilaflor in Tenerife, to local food outlets. We also want to channel direct financial aid.
